Mission:
The ES-Mouse/Virus Core houses facilities and services for the generation of genetically-modified mice, and the production of viruses for studies with genetically-modified mice.
Technology:
The core uses a highly efficient, rapid, and simple procedure for the production of ES mouse for genetically-modified and knock-in mice. The procedure enables the simultaneous production of multiple knock-in ES cells in about 1 month. The core also has the ability to create multiple parallel lines of knock-in ES mice without a need for the crossing of chimeric mice, thus shortening production time from about a year to 2-3 months.

We provide the purified virus. We can offer any serotype as long as you provide the Rep/Cap vector of your choice. Two services of different sizes are available. 1) Medium-scale preparation with the guarantee of titer, >1x10e12vg 2) Small-scale preparation without the guarantee of titer, the usual titer is 2.5x10e11vg
We produce KI/KO ES-Mouse using the targeting vector you constructed. The ES cells used are derived from wild type mice (C57BL/6N). The ES-Mouse (the fully ES-cell-derived mouse) is also known as a 100%-ES chimera mouse. Its entire body cells are derived from ES cells. Therefore, there is no requirement for the crossing of chimeric mice to produce mice that carry the KI/KO gene in all the cells of the body.
If you wish to use ES cells other than the wild type, we will establish ES cells from the early embryos provided by you.
We will also respond to your request for constructing targeting vectors, viral vectors, etc. So please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any requests.
